CEIRD
BACKGROUND
- Recognizing the need for a centralised platform to drive research, development, and industrialisation, the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education Innovation, Science and Technology Development (MHEISTD) established the Centre for Education, Innovation, Research, and Development (CEIRD).
- Education 5.0 philosophy, championed by MHEISTD, emphasises producing technology-based goods and services and fostering economic growth. CEIRD is the final stage for implementing this philosophy in higher and tertiary institutions.
- The CEIRD Act (2021) provides the legal framework for the centre’s creation and defines its functions and powers.
