Each of the following institutes will facilitate building capacity, partnerships and skills development, including acting as incubation centres for technology startups and businesses

1) Health & Environment, Water & Sanitation Technologies

Health & Environment, Water & Sanitation Technologies Institute may incubate projects related to:

  • Developing Sustainable Water and Sanitation Technologies;
  • Promoting Public Health and Environmental Hygiene;
  • Addressing Water Scarcity and Environmental Challenges;
  • Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Water and Sanitation Sector and
  • Integrating Cultural Heritage into Water and Sanitation Practices.

2) Institute of Information Technology, Electronics & Electro-Mechanical Systems

Institute of Information Technology, Electronics & Electro-Mechanical Systems may incubate projects related to:

  • Information Technology (IT) Development and Innovation;
  • Electronics and Electro-Mechanical Systems Design and Manufacturing;
  • Research and Development in IT, Electronics, and Electro-Mechanical Systems; and
  • Heritage Integration into IT, electronics, and electro-mechanical systems development.

3)The Institute of Genomics

The Institute of Genomics has excellent potential to play a unique and transformative industrialisation role through the power of genetic information and biotechnologies in the following related projects:

  • Bioprospecting and Valorization of Natural Resources with potential for industrial applications, including:
    • Plants with medicinal properties or resistance to pests and diseases
    • Microorganisms with valuable enzymes or other biomolecules
    • Indigenous livestock breeds with desirable traits for sustainable agriculture
      • Extract and purify bioactive compounds from natural resources for use in:
    • Pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products
    • Industrial enzymes and biofuels
    • Cosmetics and personal care products

4) The Institute of Energy & Natural Resources

The Institute of Energy & Natural Resources may support technology-based products, processes, and services projects related to energy and natural resources, including:

    • Renewable energy generation and storage technologies (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal)
    • Efficient and sustainable mining and mineral processing techniques
    • Innovative uses for local natural resources in construction, manufacturing, and other industries
    • Integrating cultural heritage principles into product design and production

5) Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining

Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining incubates projects related to the entire materials cycle, from exploration and extraction to product recycling and land reuse, which may include:

  • Sustainable Materials Sourcing and Exploration;
  • Material Characterization and Design;
  • Processing and Manufacturing Technologies adapted for local use and
  • Heritage Integration and Innovation.

6) The Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology

The Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology will incubate projects that leverage the unique properties of radiation and nuclear isotopes in innovative and responsible ways towards industrialisation in sectors including:

  • Food Security and Agriculture;
  • Healthcare and Medical Applications;
  • Industrial Process Improvement and Material Analysis; and
  • Environmental Monitoring and Resource Exploration.

7) Mobility & Transport, Security & Protection Institute

Mobility & Transport, Security & Protection Institute will provide incubating support towards industrialisation to projects addressing critical needs in infrastructure, security, and safety, which may include:

  • Sustainable and Integrated Mobility and Transport;
  • Enhanced Security and Protection; and
  • Heritage Integration and Cultural Preservation.

The Institute of Food Technologies supports projects promoting sustainable and culturally relevant food production, processing, and distribution within the framework of heritage-based industrialisation in the following:
